Visual Arts (A/T/M)

Visual Arts (A/T/M)

Visual Arts is integral to our lives and is fundamental to how we communicate, express and explore ideas. This course involves making and responding, focussing on nurturing the development of individual creativity while enhancing a student’s ability to critically interpret, analyse, evaluate and express themselves. It provides an excellent foundation and preparation for future pathways in employment, creative industries or further tertiary study in the creative arts.

Year 11 students experience both ceramics and visual art before electing their year 12 study pathway. Students experience Teacher Directed and Student Directed practical tasks while maintaining a Visual Diary, research and written tasks. Students can participate in a range of enrichment programs, events and projects within the school and the local community. Students develop their skills in visual presentation and are encouraged to display and exhibit their work in the school and wider community.

For students wishing to further extend themselves, a Specialised Visual Art Course can be offered as additional units of study for aspiring young artists to hone their creative talents and explore the diverse realms of visual expression and the creative industry.
