Earth and Environmental Science (A/T)
Students investigate Earth systems and processes by exploring the physical nature of our planet, and the interactions between the Earth, our water, air, and living organisms. We integrate knowledge, concepts, models, and methods drawn from geology, biology, physics, and chemistry to develop an in-depth understanding of the world we live in and the changing Earth.
As well as our conceptual work, Earth and Environmental Science students undertake field work to position their understanding in the real world, emphasising how the systems and processes they’ve investigated affect the Canberra region and surrounding areas. Our field work includes investigating evidence of our local geology, ecosystems, our extraction and use of natural resources, and hazards from a changing environment.
